Gsport Orca Development. The Orca fin line, produced and developed by Gorge Sport USA traces it's roots back to the mid 1990's when then owner Lothar Schaupp decided to broaden the Gorge Fin Connection (GFC) label for further international marketing.

In our 2005 windsurfing fin line the Orca roots are particularly noted in the development of the Gsport Freespeed, Freeride and our weed series. Orca Weedwave is in our 2005 line. The 2005 Gsport Freeride is a direct descendent of early work with GFC and Orca.

Orca is also the brand we have used for our surf, kite and wakeboard fins. The Orca line of kite fins was developed as inventor Cory Roessler moved to Hood River in the 90's to develop the sport. At this point kiteboarding was largely unknown. Cory and Lothar worked to develop fins and bindings for kiteboards. As the sport grew rapidly other leading designers and riders communicated with Gorge Sport USA. Later, as the sport develops worldwide, Orca presented the first complete kite fin line to the world, included wake, directional and surf designs. Often imitated, rarely duplicated, Orca Kite fins have been used by leaders from Robby Naish, Adam Cook, and many other world class kiters. One can easily see the founding Orca fin line influence on today's kiteboards. For 2005 the Orca Fin selection in windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing and wakeboarding are available exclusively from selected distributors and retailers.
